a new low

A variety of factors have converged to reduce my current quality of life. My uber long hours at work, keeping up with the outside tasks and J doing research over the summer have brought us to new depths of take-out food. Last night, I had to run the dishwasher when it was not even remotely full (no full-sized plates!) because we had run out of forks. Not a single clean fork in our whole kitchen and only 3 clean soup spoons! The dishwasher was run and J cooked a quick meal in celebration. At least we were both wearing clean underwear. :)

:) love this post! we've all been there! we end up eating a lot more take-out during the summer - it's hard to get motivated to cook when it is HOT outside.

I love this post as well- it rings so true in our household. Like you, I've got long hours of work. Add to that a half load of classes. Janet has soccer and work- I've often considered buying new socks and underwear instead of doing laundry.

as we Brit's say, "been there, done that, got the t-shirt... and the movie and the sequel!"
Sounds like you have your plate very full ( pardon the pun). I am glad that the new low does not involve the egg donor that is about to fall into your lap at any minute. You had me worried for a minute.
Can you dial it down a bit at work ( says me, the complete over worked hypocrite!)
Hope you get some respite and some more home cooked food soon:)
I just stocked up on frozen pizza and "healthy" microwave meals when my sweetie was out of town - I am so lame when she is not here!

Oh, I remember those days. Work long days until exhausted, come home, take care of dogs, thumb through mail (just in case Ed M.cMahon was trying to contact me), throw clothes into laundry, open the fridge and stare, blank eyed, at the shelves. Then either order out or prepare some simple, lame thing resembling food - like a big bowl of popcorn.

And now, as I prepare to return to work, I have these joyful experiences to look forward to once again. I really enjoyed cooking while it lasted. Sigh.

Hope your work eases up soon.

I'm right there with you, babe. My partner is out of town and the other night I ate cheese and olives for dinner. Can't remember the last time I had a vegetable!

Ha! Sometimes that's the way it rolls right? Roll with it. ;)
